BIOGRAPHY
A member of both the New York State Society of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Martha Castro, PA-C brings broad clinical experience to her work as a physician assistant at Shein Orthopaedics where she provides thorough, patient-centered care.
At Shein, Ms. Castro takes comprehensive patient histories and performs thorough physical examinations. She also orders and interprets labs and radiographic studies, and assesses the need for surgical intervention, all the while emphasizing conservative, nonsurgical care when appropriately indicated.
Ms. Castro specializes in helping patients manage their cervical and lumbar spines, along with many orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, including arthritis of the hips, knees and shoulders, myofascial pain, rotator cuff disease, myelopathy, and radiculopathy.
Prior to joining Shein Orthopaedics in 2011, Ms. Castro worked in the emergency room at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s Jack D. Weiler Hospital. There, she provided acute, urgent and primary care to patients of all ages, including numerous minor surgical procedures such as laceration repair, foreign body removals, incision and drainage, and ENT (ear, nose and throat) procedures.
She is a graduate of the City University of New York.
